Manufacturers
We help food manufacturers, both own-label and brand owners develop a longer term supply arrangement and a stronger bond with their farming base. This often involves securing the commitment of other suppliers (e.g. processors, wholesalers, merchants) to the project. Examples of our work include:
- finding 'forward thinking' farmers with the appropriate production capabilities willing to commit a proportion of their production to manufacturers over the long term (2-3 years)
- facilitating strategic workshops bringing farmers and manufacturers together to improve understanding between farmers and manufacturers
- developing pricing models to improve transparency of transactions
- providing an objective assessment of how the chain operates and how it can be improved
- setting up and administrating 'supplier associations', bringing key people together to set targets and mutual strategies for supply chains improvements
- developing communication strategies to improve the flow of information between farmers and manufacturers (most often this includes the processor if relevant)
