Welcome to the East Midlands! I work with our FCB members to develop new initiatives to add value or reduce costs of production for agricultural products under the new RDPE.

I am working on a number of EMDA sponsored projects under the Think Farming and Food programme looking to deliver collaborative supply chains within the East Midlands.

These projects include:

• Developing central grain storage with development work already starting at Hemswell and a new large store is presently being planned in Northamptonshire
• Finding new markets for regional fresh produce
• Developing new markets for red meat, which include the export of beef, regional brands and more effective cull cow and dairy calf marketing
• A research project to examine the impact of bio-fuels on farming in the Region, whether farmers should invest or not and where help is needed to develop the bio-fuel industry
