South East

Duncan RawsonWelcome to the South East, a region that stretches in an arc around London, from Thanet in the south-east to the New Forest in the south-west and to Aylesbury Vale and Milton Keynes in the north-west.

Despite a population of eight million people in some three million homes, more than 80 percent of the South East is still classified as being rural; indeed 6,500 square kilometres of the region are designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The region is renowned for having a diverse range of land based enterprises from extensive livestock to intensive horticulture to large areas of cereal production.

I work with many of the regions Farmer Controlled Businesses (FCBs) and farmer groups, as well as providing advice and support to new business start-ups. I also work alongside many of the regions agencies including SEEDA and Government Office and belong to the Farming & Rural Issues Group as well as being an active member on the Regional Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food Delivery Plan Board.
