Commercial Director

David joined EFFP shortly after its inception as Commercial Director. He leads the team of Regional Consultants and is responsible for the services and project work provided to a wide range of clients.  These include:

• Farmers
• Farmer Controlled Businesses
• Food Companies
• Defra
• Regional Development Agencies
• Other public and private sector organisations

Since EFFP started in 2004 David has overseen over 100 public sector and private commercial projects carried out by the EFFP team. In particular he is responsible for the five year Service Contract with Defra which aims to transform the awareness of the farming and food industry to the benefits that collaboration can provide and the potential value of improved supply chain relationships. He is also responsible for the work EFFP carry out with the Regional Development Agencies with the aim of improving the competitiveness of farming and agri-food businesses within the regions. He recruited and developed the EFFP team of 10 Regional Managers and has day to day responsibility for EFFP operations.

Prior to EFFP he worked as Regional Director for Barclays Agricultural Banking, providing finance and other services to 2500 banking customers, delivered by a team of 20 managers. This followed on from a number of strategic roles within the Barclays agricultural team, previously as Deputy Head of Agriculture.

His early career was with ADAS as an adviser specialising in dairying and farm business management.
